• Double click on The QuickBooks icon on your desktop

• Sign in to QuickBooks Desktop

• Click on Edit from menu option

• In Edit option, select Preferences

• In preferences, select Items and Inventory on the left side of the Window

• Now, select Company Preferences Tab

• Tick mark Inventory and Purchase orders are active

• Select Ok

• Click on Lists tab on main menu, and then select Item List

• Select Item which appears on bottom of page

• Click on New to add new inventory record

• Select Inventory Part and type all necessary details in that form

• Choose OK when you have filled all necessary information

• Select Vendors from home page

• In Vendor Tab, click on vendor Centre

• Then click on New Transactions

• Click on "Receive Items" and "Receive Items and Enter Bill"

• Type all necessary fields asked in opened window

• Select Save and Close when you want to exit and Choose Save and New when you want to add more items to your inventory.

• From the main menu page, move to the Report Centre

• On standard Tab, click on Inventory

• Choose the report you want to create, save or print

• Select the date range

• Click on Display Report to generate the report.
